During Saturdays workshop, I talked a little about the photographers’ community. Especially locally, here in the state of Louisiana, I have been blown away by the welcoming and open attitude of the photographers here. There is a strong sense of comraderie and friendship that exists; and I always enjoy being surrounded by the outstanding talent that exists here.
The Baton Rouge Young Professional Photographers Group (try saying THAT three times fast), despite its name, is comprised of photographers throughout the state. Once a month, photographers from Lafayette, Alexandria, New Orleans, and surrounding areas travel to meet, to chat, and to discuss. It’s always a good time for hanging out with a wonderful group of people.
This past Christmas, Erin & Melissa even hosted a Tacky Christmas Party at their studio. I can’t say enough how much I’ve enjoyed getting to know these wonderful photographers. And so, I wanted to take this opportunity to share the group with you. If you are a photographer looking to network and meet others in the industry, come out to our next meeting. Feel free to leave a comment below stating your interest or visit the previously linked post on the Group, where you can access the groups’ contact information!
I promise there are guys that come too!!! π It just so happens that the dynamic of the group changes for every meeting and this meeting before last was dominated by women. π
Hope to see you there!!
Live Simply, Love Freely,
